Product introduction

HFG-P18 is a water-based acrylic ester emulsion, which is used in applications such as anodes, edge coats, and electrode lugs in lithium-ion batteries. The product contains polar groups such as carboxyl groups, cyano groups, and phenyl rings, which provide adhesion and rigidity. In addition, the introduction of long chains gives it high flexibility, and while it has a high degree of cross-linking, it also has excellent flexibility. This allows it to maintain strong adhesion while suppressing volumetric thermal expansion. In addition, it has good abrasion resistance, excellent processing performance (no sticking to rolls), high wettability, low viscosity, low swelling, and stable electrochemical performance.

HFG-P18 can be adjusted to the appropriate viscosity and pH value according to customer needs. Currently, stable mass production has been achieved and it is being supplied to many lithium-ion battery manufacturers.

Application areas

  • It is mainly used in power battery anodes, edge coats and separators.

Current market situation

  • PVDF edge coat adhesives have poor dispersibility and are prone to particle aggregation.

  • The electrolyte causes significant swelling, and immersion in the electrolyte at high temperatures for a long period of time reduces the peel strength, and in severe cases causes peeling.

  • Oil-based solvents are not environmentally friendly.
